X Factor Star Stacey Solomon Records Theme Song for New Children’s Animated Series

Manchester, April 15 2014: CHF Entertainment Ltd has just completed a series of recording sessions to produce the theme song for their latest children’s animated series Pip Ahoy! which is scheduled to be aired on television in the autumn. Stacey Solomon, who was one of the finalists of the 2009 X Factor TV talent show, recorded the vocals for the Pip Ahoy! theme song in a London studio, while eight children from the Little Stars Stage School in Warrington were used for the shout out – Pip Ahoy!, which was recorded at Keith Hopwood’s studio on his estate in Cheshire.

Keith Hopwood, managing director of CHF Music Rights Ltd wrote and produced the music for the Pip Ahoy! series.  Keith was rhythm guitarist and backing vocals in the 1960’s pop band Herman’s Hermits and has been a composer for a number of animated television series including the hugely successful Bob the Builder.

Keith Hopwood said, “The Pip Ahoy! theme song is an uplifting and jolly tune that captures the fun and excitement you may have had on those treasured family holidays by the seaside when you were younger.  They were fun, exhilarating and, sometimes, surprising – Pip Ahoy! promises all that and more.

Stacey Solomon commented, “I’m so excited to be working on such a great children’s series as Pip Ahoy! and to meet and work with David Jason is amazing, he is a real legend. So when I was asked to sing on the theme song, I jumped at it.”

Keith said, “I was delighted that Stacey agreed to be involved in Pip Ahoy! I worked with Stacey a few years ago on a big Christmas TV commercial which I produced. It was a pleasure to work with her again, and the result will be a real bonus for the series. I approach the writing of theme songs for children’s shows such as Pip Ahoy! in the same way as writing a pop song. It needs to have a memorable hook and hopefully appeal to parents as well.”

Pip Ahoy! follows the adventures of a cute mischievous pup and his friends who live in the colourful and enchanting seaside town of Salty Cove. The series, which is aimed at children from two years old, has been produced under the leadership of multi award-winners Jean Flynn and Ben Turner and features Sir David Jason as the voice of Pip’s caring uncle, Skipper.
